Recruit Platoons 2002 to Present

The Lewis & Clark Young Marines were chartered on October 22, 2002 by YMNHQ. Our founding staff member and "the man with the dream and vision" was Mr. George Pobi. Without his perseverance and drive to succeed our unit would not be where it's currently at.
The first recruit class had 27 recruits in it and they graduated December 7, 2002.
The Commanding Officer (CO) was Mr. Pobi and the Executive Officer was Ms. Colleen Kruse.
There were a staff of six (6) registered adult volunteers.
In the first five years of the Lewis and Clark Young Marines there have been approximately 230 young adults proceed through the program through twelve recruit classes.
Recruit Class 2 & 3 graduated 54 Young Marines total, creating a two platoon series. The National Director Mr. Mike Kessler was so pleased with our gigantic recruit platoon that he came out and was our Guest Speaker for that graduation. He presented the National Director's Commemorative Challenge coins to our two Honor Grads that day.
