It’s that time of year when our older Lewis & Clark Young Marines kick off their cammies, pull on their muck boots and head to The Haunted Corn Maze at Bella Organic Farm on Sauvie Island to “get their scare on”!
No amount of rain, or mud up to the ankles can discourage our Young Marines from facing the horrors that await them. According to Bella Organics “Terrifying creatures stalk you as you make your way through our Haunted Corn Maze (in the dark)! This year our Sauvie Island Haunted Corn Maze theme will be inspired by the movie The Ring! Be prepared to be haunted by dark ghouls and goblins, chased by zombies, and Samara the evil spirit from The Ring will be appearing throughout the maze ready to take her revenge on you!”
Our Young Marines entered the Haunted Corn Maze carefully and with much trepidation. As they slowly made their way along the dark narrow pathway, screams of terror could be heard from all around. Was it the blood curdling screams from the ghouls and goblins or the victims of the chainsaw wielding maniacs? They would soon find out.
The Haunted Corn Maze did not fail to deliver, or delight, or scare the pants off some! And, I believe most of our Young Marines made it out alive. And, as one Young Marine so eloquently put it, “That was the coolest thing EVER!”
