Unit Commander (UC) Lewis & Clark Young Marines

The Unit Commander is responsible for everything the unit does or fails to do. The Unit Commander is elected by the registered adults within the unit every two years. Upon assuming command, the Unit Commander shall abide by the By-laws and shall follow and enforce all rules and regulations governing the program from higher headquarters. The candidate must be a registered adult and a former or retired Marine with an honorable discharge or an active or reserve Marine in good standing and at least 25 years old.
The Unit Commander shall perform the necessary duties that provide positive leadership and prudent management of the unit. The Unit Commander shall plan, organize, administer, and support the unit to meet the mission, purpose and objectives of the Young Marine Program.

Executive Officer (XO) Lewis & Clark Young Marines

The Executive Officer is second-in-command and assists the Unit Commander in the performance of their duties. The XO is responsible for coordinating the activities of the appointed staff. The candidate must be a registered adult, at least 25 years old and is elected by registered adults in the unit. In the Unit Commander’s absence, the XO assumes the duties of the Unit Commander.

The adjutant is responsible to the Unit Commander for all matters pertaining to the administration of the unit. The Adjutant is appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the Unit Commander. The candidate must be a registered adult before the appointment.

The Northwest Regiment Young Marines consists of five Battalions in four states, the 1st Washington Battalion (3 Units), the 2nd Washington Battalion (3 Units), the 1st Oregon Battalion (2 Units), the North Oregon Battalion (3 Units) and the 1st Idaho Battalion (3 Units).

Division 6 is one of the six National Division that make up the Young Marines. Division 6 covers the six western states of California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana and Arizona and is comprised of 4 regiments, 15 Battalions and 52 local Units.
