The US Navy commissioned its newest amphibious transport dock, the USS Portland (LPD 27), during a 10:00 a.m. ceremony Saturday, April 21, at the Port of Portland, Marine Terminal 2 in Portland, Oregon. It is with much sadness that we must report, our unit Suburban aka “The Burb” has driven its final mile. Thank you, you have served us well.
The unit Suburban (1999) was our “go to” vehicle and used to transport Young Marines and staff to and from color guards and community service events to support our veterans. It was purchased “used” in 2009 with funds donated to the unit by a private supporter. [Read more…]

The Historic Trust in Vancouver, Washington has recognized the Lewis & Clark Young Marines for their participation in the 2017 Veterans Day Parade at Fort Vancouver.
During drill on January 13, 2018, nearly 40 Lewis & Clark Young Marines descended on Whipple Creek Regional Park in Ridgefield, WA to perform trail maintenance for the National Day of Service.
Whipple Creek Regional Park is a 300 acre park with 4.3 miles of trails that cater to horseback riders, hikers, joggers and bicyclists. During the rainy season the trails get muddy and today our Young Marines hauled and spread gravel on several miles of these trails. [Read more…]
