A Night of Celebration: 22nd Annual Birthday Ball

October 17, 2024 by Andi Schwartz

Dressed in their finest, our unit gathered for a night of tradition and celebration at the 22nd annual Birthday Ball. This year, we had the honor of hosting our Division 5 Commander and Assistant Commander as guest speakers. The evening also recognized outstanding members, including the Young Marine and Adult Volunteer of the Year (stay tuned for more on that!). After the formalities, we captured fun moments in the photo booth and danced the night away with an incredible DJ. It was a night to remember!

Lewis & Clark Young Marines Explore Historic WWII PT Boats on Swan Island

July 22, 2024 by Andi Schwartz

On a bright Saturday, the Lewis & Clark Young Marines had an unforgettable experience touring the historic PT Boat 658 and LCI 713 on Swan Island, thanks to the dedicated volunteers at the PT 658 organization. These young adventurers learned fascinating facts about the PT Boat 658, the fastest wooden boat of its time and one of the most heavily armed for its size during WWII. PT boats played a critical role in daring missions, often engaging in close combat situations that larger warships couldn’t undertake. For those interested in more information or a tour, visit www.savetheboatinc.com or www.pt658heritage.org.

March 31, 2024 by Andi Schwartz

This past Saturday, the Lewis & Clark Young Marines had the incredible opportunity to visit the Vancouver Rifle and Pistol Club for a day of hands-on learning and practice. Over the past few study nights, our unit has been diligently covering weapon safety, sight usage, and proper handling techniques.
