We are thrilled to announce that YM/SgtMaj Tristan Begines has been named Division 5 Young Marine of the Year! Since joining in 2021 and graduating from Recruit Cycle 32021, he has consistently demonstrated confidence, discipline, and determination while mentoring others and strengthening our unit. Outside of the program, he is a dedicated student at Ridgefield High School, also earning college credits at Clark College. After graduation, he plans to study Biology and pursue a career as an immunologist in the Army. In his free time, he enjoys the outdoors, rock climbing, camping, and hiking. YM/GYSGT Charlotte Bisila Named Unit Young Marine of the Year

We are thrilled to announce YM/GYSGT Charlotte Bisila as our Unit Young Marine of the Year! Since joining as a Poolee in 2019 and graduating in 2020, she has excelled as a leader, recently earning Honor Grad at Senior Leadership School and achieving a perfect 500 on her physical fitness test—securing the Molly Marine Award. She embodies discipline, teamwork, and leadership, always leading by example and mentoring junior members. Outside of the program, she is deeply involved in school activities, excelling in band, varsity track, and serving as Secretary of her high school Bible Club. She also enjoys photography, friends, and her church’s youth group. Congratulations, YM/GYSGT Bisila—Oorah!

Award: 2023 Unit Young Marine of the Year – YM/SSgt Gallant
Young Marine Staff Sergeant Joseph Gallant has been awarded Lewis & Clark Young Marines 2023 Unit Young Marine of the Year!

He is in 9th grade and has been involved with the Young Marines since the beginning of 2021. He loves to share his enthusiasm and knowledge for all things military and always leads by example. His leadership skills really shined through as a recruit instructor for our most recent recruits, class 93023.
When he is not creating new cadences or ditties to share with Young Marines, he enjoys playing football, wrestling and hanging out with friends. Congratulations!

Celebration: 21st LCYM Birthday Ball
Lewis & Clark Young Marines hosted it’s 21st Birthday Ball at Black Pearl on the Columbia Event Center Saturday night.
We had a wonderful ceremony, honoring our past and present, as well as this year’s Unit Young Marine of the Year YM/SSGT Gallant and Unit Volunteer of the Year Kristine Lewis! Congratulations!
We finished off the night getting silly in the photo booth and dancing to our favorite tunes provided by the wonderful High Fidelity Entertainment, LLC!
