Lewis & Clark Young Marines is pleased to announce Mr. Devin M. Lewis has been re-elected as Unit Commander. Mr. Lewis was originally appointed as Unit Commander on Sept 24, 2017 when the current Unit Commander unexpectedly resigned. Mr. Lewis was re-elected by the Registered Adult staff on February 1, 2018 and will serve until the next regular election in 2020.
Lewis & Clark Young Marines would like to announce Mr. Sean Langley has been re-elected by our Registered Adult staff as our Executive Officer (XO) during our regular election on February 1, 2018. Mr. Langley has served as XO since the special election on October 12th when he replaced Mr. Lewis who assumed the Unit Commander (UC) position when our former UC resigned. Mr. Langley will serve as XO until February 2020 when regular elections for XO will occur again.
Mr. Langley has been instrumental in the innovative decisions that will take our unit to the next level. He has been with the unit since 2010 and has served as Charlie Platoon Male Adult Platoon Leader (APL) and Recruiter. Mr. Langley has 3 Young Marines in Lewis & Clark Young Marines.
Recruit Class 32418 is Lewis & Clark Young Marines 23rd recruit class since our unit was chartered in 2002. These 40 eager recruits started their training on Jan 13th and will graduate on March 24th. During drill on January 13, 2018, nearly 40 Lewis & Clark Young Marines descended on Whipple Creek Regional Park in Ridgefield, WA to perform trail maintenance for the National Day of Service.
Whipple Creek Regional Park is a 300 acre park with 4.3 miles of trails that cater to horseback riders, hikers, joggers and bicyclists. During the rainy season the trails get muddy and today our Young Marines hauled and spread gravel on several miles of these trails. [Read more…]
