Congratulations: Former YM Zachary Rosling
Congratulations are in order for former YM Zachary Rosling who recently graduated from Basic Law Enforcement Academy in Burien, Washington. It looks like he’ll be joining the Vancouver Police Department. 🎉 👮♂️
LCYM Anniversary: 21 Years
We’ve been in existence for 21 years as of October 2023, but whose counting?! Here’s to our next 21 years! Continued gratitude to our founding unit commander Mr. George Pobi and his initial staff (the plank owners!) who worked tirelessly to get this unit up and off the ground. Without their leadership and desire to succeed, we wouldn’t have had such a strong foundation to build on. Plank owner Doc Kurtz was on hand to witness the event. Fortuitous.
“Lewis & Clark Young Marines in Vancouver, Washington were recently awarded a prestigious 20-year anniversary certificate from YMHQ National Executive Director, Col Bill Davis and presented to them by their Assistant Division Commander, Nona Mallicoat. Recognized for their enduring commitment to ‘Strengthening the Lives of America’s Youth,’ they look forward to continuing their positive impact on the youth in their community and are eager to achieve even greater milestones ahead.” – Young Marines on Facebook
Drill Day: Special Guests
Lewis & Clark Young Marines had a fun filled drill day with some very special guests, starting off with our Assistant Division 6 Commander Ms. Mallicoat at opening formation (more exciting news to be shared on that later this week!) Our former Unit Commander, Mr. Lewis, who has moved to the Grand Canyon Regiment Commander role, spoke to us about his very exciting and dangerous job with Border Patrol. We had a very exhilarating lesson on defense techniques from our former Adult Volunteer Mr. Buttrey. Our last guest was one of the Unit’s long time Adult Volunteers Mr. Kurtz who gave us guidance on how to properly prepare during mock oral board class. Thank you all for taking the time to come and see us today! Oorah!
