On March 24, 2018, Lewis & Clark Young Marines graduated 35 recruits who have now earned the right to be called Young Marines. The graduation ceremony was led by Unit Commander, Devin Lewis, and was held in the Ball Room at the Elks BPOE #823 with over 300 guests attending, including representatives from the Marine Corps League, Columbia River Detachment #826. We are pleased to announce three of our Young Marines were promoted at drill on March 10, 2018.
LCYM 2018 SPACES Participants
The Young Marines Summer Programs, Adventures, Challenges and Schools, also known as “SPACES”, is a selection of activities Young Marines and RAs can participate in each summer, developing leadership and other skills. A complete list and description for 2018 SPACES activities can be found HERE.
Each SPACES event has its own age, rank and time in program requirements. Participants must be a member in good standing and meet all DDR and PFT requirements. Those who qualify and have shown interest are considered for participation by the Unit Commander. The Unit Commander may take other things into consideration, such as drill and community service participation & behavior.

Recruit Class 32418, our 23rd!
Recruit Class 32418 is Lewis & Clark Young Marines 23rd recruit class since our unit was chartered in 2002. These 40 eager recruits started their training on Jan 13th and will graduate on March 24th. Whipple Creek Park Community Service
During drill on January 13, 2018, nearly 40 Lewis & Clark Young Marines descended on Whipple Creek Regional Park in Ridgefield, WA to perform trail maintenance for the National Day of Service.
Whipple Creek Regional Park is a 300 acre park with 4.3 miles of trails that cater to horseback riders, hikers, joggers and bicyclists. During the rainy season the trails get muddy and today our Young Marines hauled and spread gravel on several miles of these trails. [Read more…]
