Giving Back at the Humane Society for Southwest Washington

On Saturday, our unit had the privilege of supporting the Humane Society for Southwest Washington through community service. We helped fill bags of dog and cat food for families in need and had the chance to tour the facility, meeting many adorable animals along the way. It was a rewarding experience to give back and support such an important cause. Thank you to the Humane Society for Southwest Washington for welcoming us and allowing us to help!

YM/SgtMaj Begines Visits the Capitol to Shape the Future of the Program

Last week, Division 5 YM/SgtMaj Tristan Begines had the incredible opportunity to visit the Capitol alongside his fellow Division Young Marines of the Year. During this trip, they collaborated with Division Commanders, Assistant Commanders, and Headquarters Staff to discuss the future of the program. They also met with State Representatives to highlight the program’s positive impact on America’s youth. YM/SgtMaj Begines personally met with Senator Patty Murray, Senator Maria Cantwell, and Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, advocating for the values and mission of the program. Oorah, YM/SgtMaj Begines!

Learning Life-Saving Skills with Eldridge Medical

During our last drill, Eldridge Medical visited to teach essential basic first aid skills. Participants learned how to apply a tourniquet, pack a wound, and use the MARCH acronym (Massive hemorrhage, Airway, Respiratory, Circulation, and Head). This hands-on training was both educational and engaging, equipping everyone with valuable emergency response knowledge. A huge thank you to Eldridge Medical for spending time with us and sharing these critical skills!

YM/SgtMaj Tristan Begines Named Division 5 Young Marine of the Year

We are thrilled to announce that YM/SgtMaj Tristan Begines has been named Division 5 Young Marine of the Year! Since joining in 2021 and graduating from Recruit Cycle 32021, he has consistently demonstrated confidence, discipline, and determination while mentoring others and strengthening our unit. Outside of the program, he is a dedicated student at Ridgefield High School, also earning college credits at Clark College. After graduation, he plans to study Biology and pursue a career as an immunologist in the Army. In his free time, he enjoys the outdoors, rock climbing, camping, and hiking. Congratulations, YM/SgtMaj Begines—Oorah!
